Is the UCAS deadline different for international students?
The main deadlines are the same regardless of nationality. However, international students should apply earlier where possible to allow time for visa processing.
What if I submit my UCAS application a week before the deadline?
Universities cannot prioritise earlier applications. Equal consideration means a 13 January 18:00 submission is treated the same as a 1 October submission.
Can I change my UCAS choices after submitting?
You cannot swap one course for another after submitting. You can withdraw choices but cannot add new ones — except through Extra (after February) or Clearing (after July).
What happens if I miss the 2 June reply deadline?
All your offers are declined automatically. You can only enter Clearing from this point. It’s the most painful UCAS mistake — set multiple reminders.
Is the application fee refundable?
No. The £28.95 fee covers your application regardless of outcome.
Can I apply to more than five universities?
Not in the initial application. You can add Extra choices from February if you’re not holding any offers, one at a time.
